2006 Avy Award Recipients

Recipients of the 2006 AFA First US Breeding Awards - presented at the 2007 Convention - are Harry Bryant of Ohio for the Brown Twinspot Finch, clytospiza monteiri, and Hill Country Aviaries in Texas (Rick Jordan and Mark Moore) for the Blue-cheeked Amazon Parrot, Amazona dufresniana. The AFA AVY Awards Committee (Linda S. Rubin-Chair, Josef H. Lindholm III, Barry Wold, Dr. Philip J. Ryan and Roger Bringas) voted to award both of the highly coveted AFA AVY Awards for First US Breedings.
 
Chairman Linda S. Rubin presented the awards at the 2007 AFA Convention in Los Angeles, CA during the Saturday evening banquet to Mark Moore, accepting on behalf of Hill Country Aviaries, and Sally Huntington, accepting on behalf of Harry Bryant. The AFA US First Breeding Awards are one of the highest awards in US aviculture and a benchmark of achievement for the aviculturists earning them. Congratulations well earned by distinguished AFA members!
