Support the NAWA Position

At the AFA Convention in Tampa in 2002, representatives from USDA/APHIS asked the avicultural community to come up with some draft regulations for bird facilities under the Animal Welfare Act. The AFA hosted the first meeting of representatives of many avicultural organizations in Houston in May of 2003. At that meeting, the representatives formed the National Avian Welfare Alliance (NAWA) to work on the draft regulations. The AFA is one of the representatives working within NAWA and supports the draft documents prepared by NAWA to be submitted to the USDA/APHIS. The AFA urges your support of this work.
